I know I said I would be releasing these only once per week but there’s been some nuggets I wanted to add!
We have a NEW WWE Champion! This past Monday Big E cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to defeat Bobby Lashley after he defended his title against Randy Orton. Big E tweeted the morning of and said this is what he would be doing and he did exactly that! What a moment for a guy who sometimes was only seen as a tag team wrestler and couldn’t perform as a singles star. When he joined the New Day and got to show his personality, I knew his day and time would come. This was a great decision by WWE, especially since AEW has been dropping bombs with new signings of Brian Danielson, CM Punk, and Adam Cole. This gives Raw a bit of a rejuvenation and probably one of the best shows they’ve had all year. I can’t forget to give Bobby Lashley his credit on his great title run at the age of 46. He had a better run in his second time around with WWE and truly showed age is nothing but a number. Not to say he can’t have another one because there are plenty of matchups fans would like to see. I usually don’t anticipate Raw on Monday’s but I can’t wait for the upcoming show. Please for the love of God give me The New Day Vs The Bloodline at the Survivor Series. Congratulations to Big E and I hope they give him a long run! In my next news letter I’ll be speaking about AEW!
The Soldier of God Yoel Romero returns to action this weekend against Phil Davis at Bellator 266. It’s been over 500 days since we have seen Yoel in the cage. Last time we saw him he fought to a close decision against loss current UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya. Yoel was originally supposed to compete in Bellator’s Light Heavyweight tournament against Anthony Johnson but was forced to pull out due to an eye injury. Yoel Romero at 44 years of age has a lot to prove here. If he can’t get the win over Davis, father time will truly be the reason. I anticipate this being an exciting fight, since Yoel hasn’t been in the cage for so long and has the KO power to drop anyone in any round. If Yoel wins here I say he waits for the winner of the Light Heavyweight tournament and gets his shot in early 2022.
